Hey guys,
We've talked in the past about summer literature adventures. Two years ago, we tried Ulysses- I reread and blogged the first 9 chapters and I think a few others choked on Proteus. So that was a bust. A few of us signed on for Infinite Summer last year- the result being that I'm only now reaching 600 pages in and Lisa's still about 150 pages in. So clearly we're not good at this summer literature adventures thing.
That's no reason not to try again! Thanks to the generosity
schemingreader I have contrived a copy of Tristram Shandy. But unless there's an unexpected upswell of support I'm not going to push that on people, because it's nearly as long as Ulysses.
Proposed mantra for this summer's literature adventure: Short books good! Shorter books better!
There's plenty of great literature at novella length. We can make our goal to read at least one novella and discuss it. If we finish early, great, read another. If not, at least we didn't fail like the last two summers. Ambition will not be our downfall!
Anybody have suggestions for a good, short, groupread?
