Dear Festividder,

Thanks for making a vid for me! I'm sorry this letter is late, life has been a lot.

I like being surprised, and I like when vidders are inspired, so mostly I want you to follow your vidding heart and make the vid you want to make. Some thoughts on the fandoms I requested in case it inspires...

Jet Lag: The Game (Web Series)

I fell into watching this last year and it scratches really satisfying itches for me in its gameplay of clever people who know each other well trying to outplay each other while the real world provides an excellent dose of randomness. I think the Australia and NZ seasons with Toby have been particularly fun, but I like all of it and would be happy to see anything. The cycle of three Euro tag games might also make a nice self contained subject of a vid.

לעבור את הקיר | The Wedding Plan (2016) [SAFETY]

I love how this movie thinks about dating in the religious Jewish world, and what it means to have a partner. It's such a sweetly optimistic movie even though it fully acknowledges all the roadblocks life throws at people.

Only Connect (TV)

Still the best show on TV in spite of the "budget cuts" for the writing staff. I still have no idea how to vid it, but if you can figure it out, more power to you. I've listed some favorite teams in past years, but even though I've only seen them in one match, Four Opinions is obviously my new favorite team.

How to Make It In America (2010)

I like to think about this show in relationship to Leverage because I think they're almost paced the same way, and both are shows about competent people navigating unpredictable obstacles. The difference is that Leverage always ends it's episodes with the heroes on top, but HTMIIA sometimes ends in triumph and sometimes ends in apparent failure. Doesn't matter either way, you know they'll get back on the horse and figure out a way around the latest setback.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023) [SAFETY]

As a long time player of D&D, I loved how much this film felt like the kind of story that might actually emerge at the table. I'd be interested in a vid that did something meta with that, or a celebration of any or all of the characters. A mustache twirling celebration of Forge might be fun? An exploration of Kira's growth and evolution? Just fighty fighting? All good. Or something else.

Game Changer (Web Series)

Such good chaos, so many different ways to try and win. Or lose. Or finish second. I love when they push the envelope of what can be a game, and what can be a gameshow, like the buzzer episode. I am less invested in the less gamey stuff like Make Some Noise, but it's certainly fine to include.
