seekingferretWhen I get to a point of maximum frustration, I can sometimes give up. This is a character trait I'm not proud of. What I am proud of is that sometimes when I reach maximum frustration, I give up and then say "I bet I can figure out a way to do this that won't make me so mad." Twice at work this week this has happened. I am now the shop's master at mate references, and I now know how to draw 'mimic panels' without wanting to shoot someone. Maximum frustration ftw!

in_the_beginning story is going well. I need help, though. If you know your way around Exodus and want to help me brainstorm my way through to the finish, please poke me.
This story is turning out to be the culmination of a lot of years of close reading and dreaming about these characters. It's funny, in a sense this is the best thing in the world for me to write fanfic about because I know the canon (hah, literally) more deeply than I do for any other text. Random detours like a section about the experience of eating manna come from a lot of time spent pondering such imponderables. I can write Moses's dialogue almost without thought because I know him so well. I'm really, really excited about the depth I'm able to give to this story and its characters. I think it's going to turn out really special.
