I have a question that google's been unable to help me with.

I'm creating a parody of a Wikipedia article for my Infinite Jest fic, or possibly parodies of several Wikipedia articles. Ultimately I'll either self-host or host on AO3.

What I need: A clean, blank html template for a Wikipedia page. As simple as possible, with none of the dynamically generated crap that is of no use to me. So that I can put in my own article text, modify the logo and graphics, get rid of any inappropriate links to the real Wikipedia, etc... It seems like this is a thing that people would have use for. I ought to be able to find this online somewhere, but the problem is that searching things like 'blank wikipedia template' or 'fake wikipedia template' are too generic.

Anybody have suggestions? I downloaded a random wikipedia page and have started to clear it out, but there's a lot of cruft to mess with and I don't actually know enough css or js to know how to not lose the important stuff.

*experimentally googles* ...and string-of-nouns fails miserably. Google needs to watch some Sesame Street and learn its prepositions.

A lot of cruft and server-side files too, I imagine.

Ugh. If I wasn't currently in the death grip of finals, I could EASILY make an Ao3 compliant CSS style that emulates Wikipedia (it wouldn't really work OUTSIDE Ao3 because Ao3 has a rather specific way it implements CSS, but it'd work WITHIN Ao3)

But I have a LOT of other stuff on my plate x_X; I also don't really know if you can make
tags in Ao3 :|a which is something I should find out since I'm doing a House of Leaves / Only Revolutions thing.

Sure! I need to re-learn CSS anyway and get better at it; and also to *SHUDDER* learn Javascript (seriously who the HELL developed that language, it's the most ass-backwards unintelligible garbage I've ever seen. at least CSS and HTML are semi-intuitive)

it will be nice and functional and have things like < span class = "fake_linklist" > < /span >

or whatever

Dunno if this helps, but Wikipedia seems to be one of many wikis built upon a MediaWiki foundation.
