I got my second vaccine shot on Wednesday afternoon. By the evening I had a fever and a bad headache and brainfuzz. All of that lasted all of yesterday, it was a pretty miserable day, but today I'm feeling a lot better. At least it means I know it did something to my immune system! I'm really looking forward to things I'll be able to do in two weeks.

Lots of this article resonated with me:

https://slate.com/human-interest/2021/05/essential-workers-coronavirus-fear-anger-wfh-resentment.html

I've been working in person since last June, after a two month trial of remote work didn't work out. I've been living with the constant awareness that at any point I could be exposed, and I've been living with trying to be especially careful in my life otherwise because of that risk. And so a lot of the discourse I've seen about about going back to normal post-vaccine feels weird and alienating.

Mazel tov on the vaccine! I hope the effects continue to ease.

most of my company's been remote since March 2020, and we won't be allowed back in until at least Labor Day, and over that time I have really grown to hate working from home even more than I did before all this started, so I view "going back to normal" with eager anticipation.
