Quick note to say that, inspired by bironic's awesome idea of using a subtitle track to identify the fandoms and characters in "The Greatest", I have done a quick Interlingua track for fandom IDs for "Warning: Might Lead to Mixed Dancing".

Inquiring minds want to know how you define "quick" and whether your method was easier than mine!

Took, I dunno, somewhere between an hour and two hours last night? I use Aegisub for subtitling, it's the only program I've ever found for subtitling that doesn't make me want to tear my hair out.

Cool! I hard-coded mine referencing time codes from VirtualDub and it was enough to make me decide to buy subtitling software for the future. (I did the regular subtitles in YouTube, but the clip-length stuff was too short for that tool.)

The time commitment sounds similar, though.

Yeah, I don't remember how long the regular subtitles took when I did them, but not more than fifteen minutes. This definitely took longer; there were a lot more lines to make and the process worked a little differently and more manually than my normal workflow for subtitling a song.

I confess to having thoughts of doing the same for my multi-vid -- and presumably it'd go quickly, given that I've already got a list of sources by time-stamps -- but then had to table the notion because there are other things that are of more immediate priority at the moment.
