seekingferretIt snowed most of the day yesterday, though we only got a few inches of accumulation. I had a nice cozy indoor Shabbos and then after Shabbos I went out and shoveled, and was actually a little disappointed by the accumulation. I'd been kind of looking forward all day to blowing off some steam shoveling, but the snow was so light that it took me only about twenty minutes to push it off the driveway and sidewalk. Oh well, there'll be more snow, and when we get the real snow I'll be cursing yesterday!me for wishing for more snow.
I designated today a chore day. I didn't get as much done as I'd wanted, which mostly speaks to how much of a mess I've let things get, but I did a lot! I cleaned all the dishes I'd been putting off, scrubbed down the kitchen counters, mopped, vacuumed, did a batch of laundry, replaced a couple chandelier lightbulbs so I can see in the kitchen again, set up my menorah, fixed the broken kitchen cabinet hinge, went grocery shopping, and rewarded myself for all the work I did by taking a couple hours in the evening to fry latkes. MMMMMMM. My kitchen smells so good right now. I am officially in the Chanukah spirit.
I also defaulted on Yuletide today. I feel bad about that. I've done Yuletide every year since 2009, the first year on AO3. It sucks to lose the streak, and to let down my recip. I suspect I'll be able to write a treat for my recip, but the default deadline is tomorrow and I just didn't feel confident enough that I'll be able to finish my story satisfactorily by next week. I matched on a very intimidating canon and I think I psyched myself out.
