Better Things

-I realized that between work and Mystery Hunt and other obligations I'm not going to be able to see my parents for three weeks, so I made sure to visit them for dinner Monday before shit got real. After dinner we were all sitting on the couch talking and my dad turned on Supergirl for mysterious reasons. They're in the middle of the massive multi-episode Crisis crossover special, and none of us are remotely up to date on these shows. I've watched... two seasons of Arrow, one and a half seasons of Flash, one season of Supergirl, one and a half episodes of Legends of Tomorrow, and one episode of Batwoman. My brother mostly hasn't seen any of them, maybe he'd seen a few Arrow episodes. My parents haven't seen any of it. So we had no idea what was going on, I was able to identify about half of the characters for my parents. But we had so much fun watching it anyway, or maybe because we had so little investment and it was such a pointless and batshit hour of television. And my mother, who grew up an Adam West Batman fan, got so much joy from the Burt Ward cameo.


-The Sequel is in shockingly good shape. Waiting for some beta feedback from a few people, but in general it's pretty great and in general I'm happy with almost all of it. 102 fandoms in the current draft. Also, I submitted my Festivid, ugh, Golive is so far away and I cannot wait.


-MIT Mystery Hunt is next weekend and team prep has begun and I am so excited. I had a puzzle related dream a few nights ago. The puzzle consisted of about a dozen physical boxes in a row, each of which was a dispenser for a spool of paper tape with candies attached to it, like candy buttons, except the candies were shaped like multicolored human teeth and each tape had a particular and complex ordering of molars vs. canines vs. incisors. Each of the boxes was labeled, and all of the labels were sports related. I don't remember all of the names, but the first one was labeled San Jose Sharks, and my first a-ha was the realization that in spite of the label, that particular mini-puzzle was baseball related, not hockey related.

Then I woke up.
