Unlike Glasgow, I'm going to be actually at *Worldcon*, not just the Business Meeting, which is great! I'll be trying to catch a lot of Martha Wells, and as always the Art Show is a big fave of mine. I'm staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8, arriving there & registering on Tuesday.
I, too, am optimistic about getting to enjoy more con because of less business meeting. Not just because of getting the time back, but because the business meeting often put me in a bad mood that it took some time to get out of before I could enjoy the con again.
I'll be traveling under the name of Doctor Science, btw, and using a scooter a lot of the time these days. Which fanfic panel(s) will you be on? I'm going to be following Martha Wells around a lot, ngl.
Because I lived in Seattle for several years I'm eager to return. And I'm also glad that the business meeting is mostly taken care of in advance. I always resented how much time it took away from the convention, but the times I skipped the business meeting I often felt guilty, like I wasn't contributing like I should.
I'm planning to mingle in some family time (my brother still lives in the Seattle area) and visit some places I never got around to when I lived there. Probably. There's an awful lot of panels and events. Plan on hitting a bit of the film festival - I always like a Worldcon with a bit of film festival.
