Apr. 7th, 2013 09:58 amSomeday I will figure out how to write Nadab and Abihu. Closest I came was last year when I scribbled some Nadab and Abihu Bible Space Station AU, but didn't get very far. Honestly, it might be the most mystifying story in the whole Bible. It pierces so close to the veil of the man/God relationship. This year in the reading of the parsha I found myself wondering what connection there might be between the story and the laws of Kashrut, while my father wrestled with the weird conversation between Moses and Aaron about the laws of being a High Priest in mourning.
Today is my birthday. Last night I celebrated by going out to a college reunion-y thing, though most of the people there were class of '08 and as a member of the class of '07 I found them mostly to be people I recognized by sight but didn't actually know. It was still fun, though it reminded me of the mixed pleasures that my college education had brought. My school was an odd place. A wonderful community, but an odd place.
Today is the 12th day of the Omer
(And I find that it's not really helping my count, since I've mostly been remembering to count when I'm not near a computer, but I'll keep at it anyway.)
