Festivids revealed!

I made two Adam West Batman vids.


This Be the Verse for thirdblindmouse is a Robin-oriented vidlet to Philip Larkin reading his poem "This Be the Verse", the one that famously starts "They fuck you up, your mom and dad." With an, er, stealth crossover.

"Holy Dance Vid, Batman for elipie is a goofy Batman dancing vid to a Bad Plus instrumental. Because there is so much fucking dancing in Batman. SO MUCH.


The whole plan of not signing up for Festivids and just making treats worked out really well, and I think I'm likely to do the same next year. With less pressure on me, I made more vids than last year? And I'm happier with the vids? I can live with that.

Heh, the dance vid wasn't on my shortlist for your second vid; I must be losing my touch at recognizing your tells. :-P

Yay, I'm glad that your Festivids plan worked so well for you. Less pressure, more vids, and happier with the vids: that sounds like a whole lotta win.

I feel like the most obvious tell in that vid is the cut between the record spinning and Batman spinning. I couldn't resist the sight gag there. The second most obvious tell is the song: I wrote, a week before Festivids deadline, that the Bad Plus is my favorite band. Also, given that you knew I made the vid to the spoken word track, it's not a far leap to guess that maybe I would also vid an instrumental in the same fandom.

Eh, I missed that comment, and while I noted your excitement that the Bad Plus recorded the entirety of Rite of Spring, the name of the band didn't stick for me.

Vids I considered and rejected for you were Eureka and the two made for jetpack-monkey. But none of those three had that glorious ambition that I associate with you. I only got through about half of the offerings; I thought it entirely possible that your second vid was one of those that I hadn't seen yet.
