Huh... I created them using Ark on Kubuntu, so it's strange that you'd have trouble with them in Ubuntu.
Since you have Ubuntu, I assume you have tar/untar, so I just threw it up in a gzipped tar archive too in case that helps. Untar with tar -xvzf for_bookherd.tar.gz
