I picked up an old copy of Oriental Rugs in Color a few years back (as part of my own commitment to the bit of wanting a field guide to everything) and it was unexpectedly fascinating to read about the economic history of Middle Eastern rugmaking and all the regional traditions! I wish you joy in your new obsession.
