Vidrec Thursday
Nov. 5th, 2020 09:35 amIn search of an election day distraction from endlessly hitting refresh, I watched the whole season of Julie and the Phantoms over Tuesday and Wednesday nights, which this
fanworks fanvid by
pollyrepeat had made look really fun and enticing, which it in fact is.
A Good Song Never Dies on AO3
The way the vid uses the show's repeated special effects in time with the music is brilliantly engaging, and the way it treats the emotional heft of the show's confrontations with death in a serious and thoughtful way while remaining upbeat and hopeful is a wonderful balm. It's definitely a vid that works well enough without canon knowledge but works exceptionally well if you do know the canon. So that means you should watch the canon, only 9 half hour episodes of band hijinks and ghost hijinks and quite tolerable music that's even sometimes pretty good.
