Cesare, in the old Met production and with DiNiese as Cleopatra, was my first opera at the Met, and it was just a wonderful night. So I will always have extremely fond associations with the show.
I think it's my second time seeing Daniels live, after his Prospero in The Enchanted Island. I'm pretty sure he's singing Oberon next season, which I can't wait to see. I've seen him do Oberon on DVD and I loved it. But I've also had inconsistent feelings about his singing on recordings.
