To me, definitely! A rise by a third seems like a lot.
Possibly it is significant! But it depends how you count, and it depends on what gets reported, and it doesn't really palpably change the fact that this is just a background of life as an American Jew. I'm not going to bother to do the research so I may have this wrong, but I think the numbers reported for 2017 were the worst since, like, 2003. So not, you know, the worst numbers seen since 1939 or anything.
