Sedarim were good! Saw family, friends, ate lots of good food, asked lots of good questions, had lots of good arguments about the meaning of freedom and what the hell mevushal means. Weirdly, for a holiday that consisted of two days of eating, sleeping, and praying, it exhausted me. I think it was the late nights, the alcohol consumption, and the change in routine. I have opera tickets for tonight to see Verdi's Luisa Miller at the Met, but I'm thinking of skipping in favor of staying home, doing laundry, eating Seder leftovers, vidding a bit, and going to sleep early.

I don't think I have talked at all about my new toy! I bought a little mini 3 Axis CNC router/mill. Work area of about 4"x6", comes as an unassembled kit you have to put together and align yourself. Less than $200. I have assembled it but have not yet aligned it that precisely, and I have manually operated its motors but not yet totally figured out how to send it useable g-code.

I threw it in a box on the side as part of Pesach cleaning, but when I have some free time it'll come out again and I'll figure out the rest of how to use it. I'm excited, I have no prior experience with CNC as a user, just as an engineer specifying designs to CNC machinists, so it's neat to learn.

Also, I have had it with fucking snow. It's April, my birthday's in five days, baseball has begun, the time for snow is over. We got like two inches this morning and even though it barely disrupted my commute, and is already starting to melt, it just filled me with a strong desire to stay in bed this morning. I am tired of the cold. I want spring and I want to be able to go outside and enjoy the sun.
