Sep. 28th, 2013 08:47 pmReveals were shortly before Shemini Atzeres, so I barely had a chance to comment, but for
jukebox_fest, the exchange for stories based on songs, I was blessed to receive two stories! They are both pretty neat, and you should check them out.
"Closing time" takes Tom Waits's "The Piano Has Been Drinking" as the surreal inspiration for a completed soused exploration of and tribute to a dive bar's final moments.
"Miracle Worker" is a silly story that takes Dan Bern's "Jerusalem" and translates it into the actual life experiences of Dan Bern, Jerusalem Syndrome sufferer.
Both of them are a hell of a lot of fun. Both kept making me laugh, and I am really grateful that I got two stories out of the deal somehow. Written for me! EEE!
Tomorrow I think I get my
fic_corner gift, which is exciting, though I am more nervous about the reveal of my own story for that exchange than I was about the reveal of my story for
jukebox_fest. So we shall see.
