So far the hardest adjustment post-laptop loss has been remembering all the new passwords I've set for important accounts that were saved to my laptop. I mostly use fairly strong passwords- strings of randomish letters and numbers that I devise mnemonics for to help remember. It's one thing to add a new password like that every so often and slowly get good at it. A half dozen new ones all at once is tricky.

I live in mortal fear that someday I will use passwords like my parents. This is giving me a scary glimpse of their world.

Yeah, I'm rather scared of the day that I'm desperately struggling to minimally keep up with the tech. :-/

Not acceptable to initially use one shared password for the mass of them, just temporarily, and then start phasing them over to individual passwords, one by one, as cognitive space frees up?
