The capitalism is very unsettling in The Westing Game! It's very clear that the book is aware that Westing hurt a lot of people by being a Capitalist, it's not a rah rah laissez faire book and it's unclear how seriously the book wants you to take Turtle's ideas about success in business being an engine for success in life given that she's the winner but she's also a traumatized twelve year old, but there sure is a lot of Hard Work is Redemptive and, let's say, Rand-adjacent ideas. I tend to line up on the side that the book is skeptical of anything that reduces complexity, it's hard to pin it down ideologically.
