5. This is an opinion that makes a lot of sense. My sense of Gaga is that her music is extremely carefully constructed to feel that way to as many people as possible... friends of my generation catch homages to Ace of Base and 90s pop music in the same songs that are undeniably playing with, as you say, Madonna and Falco and the Eurythmics and a lot of 80s pop- and there is definitely a disco presence as well. Because I like digging in for meta, my attraction to Lady Gaga is the fact that she doesn't hide the fact that she's doing this, that she throws out Easter Eggs for fans to catch... actually this has me wondering what you would think of Girltalk.
8. Novelty music I have plenty, but novelty music works best when its deconstruction of musical tropes is set up against the tropes themselves.
