The theory is that I'm constantly in pursuit of myself. I think it's an oddly compelling metaphor. The Ferret chasing after his own tail. Ceaselessly seeking Ferret. Eventually, I'll catch up to myself.

The theory doesn't work in practice. You never make any progress in self-pursuit. But that never seems to stop animals from chasing their tails. Why do we all do it? Because it's fun.
